OUR COMPANY

John Leighton founded the company in November 1982 after being made redundant from Warner & Swasey Turning Machines of Halifax. John had previously worked in the electronics industry for ICL computers, the Zambnian Telecomms, and the Armed Forces.

Our customer base rapidly expanded to include many household names such as Vauxhall, Ford, Bedford to name a few in the Automotive industry.  At first we specialised in Warner & Swasey machines but quickly expanded our range to any machine with GE and Siemens control systems.

In 1989 Peter Scott joined the company and shortly after we were asked to help HP Atlas develop a CNC wheel-lathe for the railway industry.  This kept us up to date with more modern control and drive systems as we worked with Atlas to build and commission machines in UK, USA, Hong Kong, Philippines, China, Portugal, India, Turkey and various other places.

Since Atlas were bought out by an Australian company in 2000 we have concentrated our resources to helping companies to rebuild special purpose machines.

We rely on repeat business and word of mouth for the majority of our new customers. Quality of our work helps us to do this and we will not take on projects which we feel are not properly funded because the problems resulting are always reflected on the supplier not the customer.
